Garlic buttered Shrimp, Honey garlic Shrimp and etc. was one of those Shrimp Recipes. Today I am going to cook shrimp with Gochujang or Red Chili Paste.
Gochujang or Red Chili Paste is popular in Korean Cooking, a sweet, spicy and savory fermented condiment made from Chili powder.
Ingredients:
● 1 pound shrimp
● 1 whole sliced onion
● 3 cloves sliced garlic
● 1 chopped chili pepper
● peeled and sliced ginger
● chopped green onion
● 1 tablespoon sugar
● 1 tablespoon soy sauce
● 2 tablespoon gochujang
● cup of water
Directions:
1. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat, sauté garlic, onion and ginger. Stir for 1 minute.
2. Place shrimp, cook and stir until the shrimp turned to orange then leave for another 1 minute.
3. Mix sugar, soy sauce and gochujang in a bowl, stir will until gochujang is fully dissolve.
4. Add the mixed ingredients to the shrimp add water, cook and stir and leave it for 2 minutes or until the sauce starts to thicken and coats the shrimp. Garnish with green onions and chili pepper.
5. Serve shrimp and enjoy!
Everytime I use gochujang I don't need salt anymore because gochujang has the incredible flavor already and it's now my new favorite flavor in one. I use it in so many recipes because it's really really really good. The way it coats to the shrimp perfectly and it creates such a flavorful and sticky sauce.
But the best part of todays recipe is, the meal is ready under 20 minutes. Try and have an amazing meal with your family or friends with this easy Sweet and Spicy Shrimp Recipe that you'll surely love to make again and again. Enjoy! ;)
